My client, an industry leading machinery supplier, is looking for a Vice President – Engineering to join their team in the Fraser Valley. The Vice President – Engineering will be responsible for overseeing the engineering team, providing direction/guidance and implementing innovative product design and development processes. The ideal candidate for this role will have natural leadership abilities and an impressive track record of successfully building and leading an Engineering or Product Development Team.

What the Vice President – Engineering does:

  • Leads and manages the engineering leadership team and provides professional guidance and mentorship as needed
  • Implements innovative product design and development practices and processes
  • Oversees the entire life cycle of a product from conception to design verification and troubleshooting
  • Manages the development of new and existing products/projects
  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Act as a technical expert for the leadership team

What is expected of you:

  • 10+ years of experience leading an Engineering or Product Development Team in BC
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry, with deep mechanical and electrical exposure
  • P.Eng certification is an asset
  • Proven track record developing and commercializing new products, automation equipment and technology… medium to large sized machinery
  • Experience providing cost and timeline expectations on new projects
  • Strong knowledge of patents with 2-3 patent applications (1 approved)
  • Experience building and managing high performing teams
  • A large network of engineering resources and support is an asset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and natural leadership abilities
