Job description: Summary Currently seeking a current or recently qualified Air Battle Manager (ABM)/Weapons Director (WD) to serve as FTU Air Battle Manager supporting F-22 mission training operations at Tyndall AFB, FL. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Provide ABM liaison between the organization and one or more of the C2 agencies at Tyndall Air Force Base to maintain up to date USAF ABM tactical knowledge and skills to execute C2 functions in accordance with applicable AFTTP and ALSA publications for realistic F-22 FTU/F-22 Operational Unit Command and Control (C2)/Ground Controlled Intercept (GCI) support in the Mission Training Center.
Perform as instructor for ABM/WD capabilities encompassing the full spectrum of theory, formal classroom and simulated missions on Battle Management System functions in support of the F-22 FTU/Raptor Mission Planning School (RAMPS)/Electronic Combat Officer (ECO) School.
Provide Ground Control Intercept (GCI) control for all appropriate F-22 FTU syllabus and operational RAP missions conducted in the F-22 Mission Training Center (MTC) for Simulated/and Live Virtual training missions.
Provide support for Mission Planning Cell (MPC) activities in support of Distributed Mission Operations (DMO), Large Force Employment (LFE), and Turkey Shoots, along with all local and HHQ generated exercises. Review recommend changes to current C2 courseware in support of FTU and RAMPS/ECO syllabi.
Serve as the alternate Link 16 Unit Manager (LUM) for the 325 Fighter Wing. AIR BATTLE MANAGER RELATED DUTIES: Provide direct oversight for squadron C2 activities Ensure simulator C2 training is in compliance with current Technical Orders and Air Force Tactics, Techniques and Procedures guidance.
Provide feedback and update customer regarding capabilities/requirements for the C2 position of the MTC Instructor Operating Station (IOS) to meet applicable realistic tactical training standards.
Update Customer regarding funding for C2/Link equipment, facility repairs, and mission support.
Assist Academic Simulator Building (ASB) schedulers in coordinating MTC missions to optimize C2 support during applicable FTU/Operational/Ready Aircrew Program (RAP) tactical simulator training scenarios.
Provide feedback and update customer on training program effectiveness, participate in process improvement teams to recommend improvements to instructional methods or processes and participates in workshops and course reviews.
Participate in subject matter-related conferences and recommend course changes.
Coordinate the development of MTC training scenarios to provide efficient FTU, Mission Qualification Training (MQT), Flight Lead Upgrade (FLUG), and CT to maximize resources.
Coordinate with intelligence personnel for pre-mission planning, attends mission briefings where C2 is required/desired and participates in mission debriefs to provide timely, informative and focused feedback.
Perform required mission planning and staff work in scheduling, training, intelligence, weapons and tactics, and combat readiness.
Provide feedback and recommendations to the customer regarding policies, local operating procedures, and directives of management.
Provide recommendations on training requirements, performance standards, and conduct feedback sessions/debriefings as required.
SELF INSPECTION DUTIES: Conduct and document self-inspections. When deficiencies are identified, prepare and implement corrective action plan and ensure correction timelines are met. Travel During CONUS deployments, the contract ABM may, at Government request, be required to accompany the unit to their deployed location. While deployed, they will perform ABM duties and/or other C2 related tasks.
Qualifications and Education Requirements Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of four (4) years of experience as Air Battle Manager (ABM)/Weapons Director (WD)
Applicant will be subject to a US Government investigation for access to classified information and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain the required level of security clearance (Top Secret with eligibility for SAP/SAR access)
Possess the ability and willingness to deploy in support of off-station training for all supported training squadrons as required by local training syllabi
Possess the ability and willingness to work closely with customer–to include Weapons Officers, Intelligence Officers, Pilots, Enlisted, and Civilian Personnel in the development of new Mission Qualification Training (MQT) and Upgrade Scenarios to address emerging threats and new TTPs.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise and application of the knowledge and skills in the command and control (C2) of fighter type aircraft (to include the F-22), with the ability to apply AFTTP 3-2.8, AFTTP 3-1 Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) to simulated and operational scenarios in the F-22 Mission Training Center (MTC). Prior experience as an instructor with the ability to teach and evaluate the full spectrum of C2 and Ground Controlled Intercept (GCI) theory and doctrine in a Formal Training Unit (FTU) environment and as part of the Raptor Mission Planning School (RAMPS) / Electronic Combat Officer (ECO) School.
Demonstrated proficiency in developing, analyzing, and evaluating tactical scenarios to meet simulated and operational mission requirements and improve C2 realism / relevancy for the organization using current Technical Orders (TO) and Air Force guidance.
Familiarity with fighter mission planning requirements to include the ability to contribute C2 experience to Mission Planning Cells (MPC) in support of Distributed Mission Operations (DMO), Large Force Exercises, and all local HHQ generated exercises.
Familiarity with various electronic and telecommunications equipment to assist in the development, review, and update of C2 courseware.
Familiarity with the USAF Link-16 infrastructure and its use in an operational environment, with the ability to provide advice on recommended Link-16 improvement, repair, and support.
